Heartbeat is a long running popular TV series produced by Yorkshire Television. It is about a of a country copper in North Yorkshire in the 1960s It has now reached its fourteenth series, and the even more extraordinary milestone of its 250^th episode. And it all began with Nicholas Rhea's books.

The use of '60s music, which seems such an integral part of the series,  and the theme tune Buddy Holly song of the same name and knew that it would make a great theme song, also ideal for the period setting of the 60’s.
